Catalogue Note
Dinner at the White House. Lindbergh warmly responds to a White House invitation for a dinner honoring the French author and Minister of Culture, André Malraux. As famous in France as in the United States due to his epic flight in 1927, he was a logical choice for the guest list. He writes: "Yes, the invitation to the Malraux dinner has come, and my wife and I are accepting with sincere appreciation. I've got to have a black-tie outfit made. That's not so difficult. But now I won't be able to answer invitations saying that it is seven years since I have gone to a formal dinner!!"
