Catalogue Note

A biography in the making. Gershwin writes to his literary agent at James B. Pinker & Son, Inc., Grace Morse, regarding meetings in addition to updates from his biographer, Isaac Goldberg. In his letter of 2 October 1929, he writes: "Mr. Isaac Goldberg is keeping me posted about what he is writing and I am sending as much material as I can think of for his articles." Goldberg's biography on Gershwin, included herewith, was published in 1931, to Gershwin's high praise.
