A whimsical message from Charleston. On the verso of a charming postcard depicting Middleton Gardens in Charleston, South Carolina, Gershwin writes: "Hello Doctor—Gradatamente, allegro con brio con moto, poco a poco crescendo misterioso, con fuoco, which means in the english [sic] language I'm thinking of you."
