Vuillard, Edouard

Pair of autograph letters signed ("E. Vuillard"), each 1 page (6 1/4 x 4 1/4 in.; 160 x 118 mm), in French, [no place], 22 December 1928 and 20 March 1929, to Monsieur A. Bréal; address panels on verso of each letter; light browning.

Mourning a loss and too much work. In his letter of 22 December 1928, Vuillard articulates his continued anguish over the loss of his mother. Though his mother prepared him for this, "elle s'est éteinte peu à peu sa main dans la mienne . . . ."  Vuillard's letter of 20 March 1929 notes he has lots of work but he admits he needs a vacation.
