Monet, Manet and more. In his letter of 1872, Sisley writes of an impending trip to Paris to see Claude Monet about an idea of Edouard Manet: "Si vous pouvez vous trouver à Paris nour pourrons nous entendre avec Monet au sujet d'une idée qui est venue à Manet. Il s'agit d'un diner à offrir à Durand-Ruel." In his letter to Pissarro of 1883, Sisley sends apologies for neglecting to send an invitation to his cousin. On 12 April 1891, Sisley writes to an unidentified gentleman regarding the sale of a painting.
