Autograph letter signed, 1 page (8 7/8 x 4 1/2 in.; 225 x114 mm), 30 may 1828, to SAbram Cooper; some light browning and creasing.

A gift of a proof print with strings attached? Constable asks his correspondent: "Will you do me the favor of accepting this proof print . . . by Mr. William Ward?" The artist hopes Mr. Cooper will think favourably of it  as an engraving. He then remarks, "You may at sometime or other have the way of rendering a service to so busy a deserving young man as well as that he was the son of my much esteemed friend . . . ."
