4 volumes (of 5), 8vo (8 1/8 x 5 1/4 in.; 106 x 132 mm). 4 engraved additional titles, 1 engraved portrait, 536 engraved text illustrations showing maps, plans, views, diagrams, and portraits, engraved headpiece and initial in first volume, woodcut headpieces; some light fore-edge dampstains in vols. 1 and 3. 18th-century calf, gilt-ruled triple fillet border, armorial stamps at four corners, spines richly gilt, edges red; some corners rubbed, a few dampstains, foot of spine in volume 4 mended.
