8vo (7 3/4 x 4 7/8 in.;197 x 123 mm). Half-title, engraved frontispiece of Louis, Dauphin of France; light toning to frontispiece, dampstaining in bottom margin, some marginal foxing. Contemporary red morocco, covers French filleted and stamped with the arms of Marie-Antoinette, smooth spine gilt, black morocco lettering piece, coated blue endpapers, gilt dentelles, edges gilt; skillful color restoration to spine and repairs to spine ends, tiny nick to upper joint, some streaking and mottling to upper cover and marginal staining to endpapers (both presumably from leather dressing).    



 Sold as a group of bindings, not subject to return.

Catalogue Note

A fine association copy of the biography of Louis, Dauphin of France, father of Louis XVI, bearing the arms of Marie-Antoinette. Louis XVI married Marie-Antoinette in 1770.
