Engraved frontispiece portrait, engraved title-page, woodcut initials, head- and tailpieces; washed and pressed with residual staining and browning, a few short tears and marginal repairs. Full red morocco by Chambolle-Duru, triple filleted boards, spines richly gilt with raised bands, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, edges marbled under gilt.
The last edition edited and published in the author's lifetime.
