Vol. 1: title-page and Q6 guarded, repairs to gutters of B1–2 and B10–11, several short tears on bottom margin in quire C, light toning chiefly marginal, occasional marginal spotting. Vol. 2: repairs to gutter and fore-edge of title-page, repairs to minor tears on G11 and L2, T4 guarded, minor dampstaining on bottom margin of C12–F5 and quire T. Vol. 3: Gutters of title-page, B1–2, and quire R repaired, long closed tear on L12 touching 4 lines of text, small marginal repair to M5. Full crushed cordovan morocco by Birdsall of Northampton and London, French fillets on front and rear covers, the spine in 6 compartments richly gilt (2 reserved for lettering), gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, edges gilt; dentelles offset to front and rear free endpapers, light scratch to rear board of vol. 3.
