Oblong 4to (12 3/4 x 15 3/4 in.; 324 x 400 mm).  13 fine etchings with engraving including frontispiece, head- and tailpieces, and 10 numbered plates (which are signed in the plate), printed by Roger Lacourère on chine and mounted on Arches, text printed by Ducros et Colas, tissue-guards.  Original printed wrappers in original glassine; inner hinge cracked.  Publisher's green cardboard chemise and slipcase; minimal fading, joint of chemise starting.

Copy 44 of 60 copies on Arches, signed by Marcoussis (of a whole edition of 77).  One of the most delightful of all Cubist illustrated books. The artist illustrates quotations by favorite authors, including Shakespeare, Baudelaire, Dostoyevsky, Hölderlin, Rimbaud, and Apollinaire.
