Condition
This painting is in beautiful condition. It has probably never been removed from the stretcher although it seems that Botero himself re-stretched it to abbreviate the top edge by a couple of inches; the canvas is well stretched.
The paint layer is in lovely state and has probably never been cleaned or damaged. In the lower center around the plantains on the left side there are two or three brown marks which may correspond to small splashes of some foreign substance which could easily be removed, but there seem to be no restorations and no need for any.
