Overall the condition of the marble is very good. There is minor dirt and wear to the surface, including a few chips and scratches, in particular to the edges. There is a small area of loss to the left corner at the front and there is a small loss to the drapery at the front. There are some very small naturally occurring inclusions. There is some stable veining to the marble, consistent with the material, including a larger vein in the back of the hair running from the top of the proper left side down into the centre of the head at the back. There are a few small orange stains, mostly to the back of the head.
