Description

  • high relief with a coat of arms supported by a dragon, possibly the arms of the Campo, Mauro and Canizarro families
  • white marble and pietra dura

Condition

Overall the condition of the relief is good. There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age, including a few chips and scratches. There are a number of losses to the marble, including two to the bottom left scrolls of the coat of arms and one to the bottom right corner. There are losses to the pietra dura inlay, including a loss to the oval brown inlay on the bottom scroll of the coat of arms which has been filled with composite material. There are several smaller losses in the coat of arms and to its scrolls. There are a few stable fissures to the pietra dura. A small section of white marble to the border at the right has been reattached. There is a slight ridged line running down the reverse. There are two holes in the top to mount the relief to the wall.
