Overall the condition of the ivory and wood is good. There is some minor wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. The reverse has a darker patina than the front. There is some naturally occurring stable hairline splitting visible across the fron of the figure. The thumb of the proper right hand and the little finger of the proper left hand were reattached, the thumb of the proper left hand was probably carved separately. The tip of the tusk's root canal is visible at his left temple. The trunk was reattached at the base. The five arrows are loose.
