Condition

Overall the condition of the terracotta is very good. There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few very minor chips, including to the edges at the base, some of the edges of the drapery and to the top of the chair. There are a few hairline stable firing cracks, including one running across the lap and two running up the back of the chair. The rose and thumb in the proper right hand appear to be reattached and the rose is slightly loose. There may have been restoration to the left hand and the handkerchief here is slightly damaged.
