Condition
Original canvas. Apart from some occasional small spots of retouching visible under UV light, notably to a thin 13cm scratch through the sky and hill in the left, and some spots in the upper right in the sky, and slight paint shrinkage to the sky in the horizon above the red barn, overall this work is in good condition.
The colours are less bright than in the catalogue illustration, and more typical of twilight, with blues and greens which are darker and deeper.
Held in a painted wood frame.
