Catalogue Note

Although the dedication inscription in Travels with My Aunt might appear to suggest that "H.H.K" and Yvonne Cloetta are different people they are in fact, one and the same; or, at least, Greene's "Happy Healthy Kitten" and his mistress and companion Yvonne are manifestations of one single being. The cinematic adaptation of The Comedians, with a screenplay by Greene and starring Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Peter Ustinov and Alec Guinness, was released in 1967.
