8vo, 3 volumes, first edition, one of 1000 copies (of which 100 quires and 22 copies were remaindered), sketch map frontispiece in volume 1, advertisement leaf at the end of volume 2, original brown diagonal fine-ribbed cloth with two-rule border on lower cover (Purdy's primary binding), decorated in black on upper cover, spines lettered and decorated in gilt and black, each volume preserved in quarter morocco folding box, some wear to bindings, cloth slightly torn at head and base of spines, some minor spotting, boxes worn
