Catalogue Note
Mary ("Molly") Montagu Douglas Scott, Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensbury (1900-93) was a good friend of Churchill's and used to play Bezique with him frequently during the war in his underground bunker. The statesman once commented that when Molly Buccleuch entered a room it was as though a light had been turned on.
