Sir Alec Guinness gained acclaim for his portrayal of Wormald, the innocent salesman dragged into the world of spies and counter-spies, in the cinematic adaptation of Graham Greene's Our Man in Havana (1960). He also had roles in the adaptations of Greene's novel The Comedians and Evelyn Waugh's A Handful of Dust.
