Catalogue Note

The most handsome of the later editions of Charles Dickens' Works, accompanied by an original steel plate.

The original steel plate in this copy is by Roberts after Luke Fildes,   entitled "Durdles cautions Mr. Sapsea against boasting". As normal it is set into a uniform cloth box, accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by the Deputy Chairman of Chapman and Hall, Arthur Waugh.
