New York: Random House, 1940, "first printing" on imprint page, inscribed by the author "For Hope "Oiga" Morris | Merry Christmas | and Greetings to the llamas | love | Ted Seuss" on front fixed endpaper, original grey cloth, soiled, lacking spine, worn; iii) How the Grinch Stole Christmas. New York: Random House, 1957, inscribed by the author "With love to Hope + Ted | whose ghost, perhaps, is only a Grinch. | - Dr. Seuss" on verso of front free endpaper, original pictorial boards (advert for The Cat in the Hat on lower board), soiled, worn with lower joint splitting (3)
