Catalogue Note

A fine mid-century anthology assembled by Oscar Williams, signed by all contributors, who include W.H. Auden, George Barker, Richard Eberhart, William Empson, Randall Jarrell, Robinson Jeffers, C. Day Lewis, Louis Macneice, Marianne Moore, Howard Nemerov, Muriel Rukeyser, Karl Shapiro, Stephen Spender, Wallace Stevens, Dylan Thomas, Robert Penn Warren and Williams himself.

Loosely inserted is a typed letter signed by Marianne Moore to Williams, thanking him for a phonograph record of Gene Darwood's poems (with envelope, Brooklyn, 6 June 1958),  a Chase Manhattan bank draft to George Barker, signed by Williams and endorsed by Barker, and a contemporary black and white photograph of Dylan Thomas in New York just before his death, standing beside Williams.
