The recipient is Sir Lovelace Anthony Stamer, 5th Baronet (b.1917), of the Stamer Baronetcy of Beauchamp, Dublin, created on 15 December 1809. When the Going Was Good collects "all that I wish to preserve of the four travel books I wrote between the years 1929 and 1935: Labels, Remote People, Ninety-Two Days and (a title not of my own choosing) Waugh in Abyssinia..."
