Condition

Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the pink tends more towards a bubblegum pink in the original. The catalogue illustration also fails to fully convey the rich impastoed brush strokes apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is wear with some associated loss in all four corners with intermittent tension cracks along all four outer edges. There is a small spot of loss right of centre on the top edge. There is a hairline vertical crack to the left of the figure's head and a further vertical crack to the figure's elbow, and a small crack above the figure’s right temple, all only visible under close inspection. There is a small indentation with associated craquelure to the left of the figure's chin. There are a few light media accretions and handling marks scattered in a few places throughout. There is some light surface dirt, notably to some of the raised impasto paint strokes. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
