Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. There are a few very light handling marks to the lower part of the painted grey figures. There is a faint rub mark to the right leg of the smallest figure. There are a few tiny spots of paint loss; to the king's knee, to the back of the red headed figure and a spot below the signature on the reverse. There is extremely light wear to the king’s extended foot. Upon very close inspection, there are a few hairline cracks to the king’s neck and to the neck of the smallest figure. There are a few spots of surface irregularities which appear to be original artist's retouchings and do not fluoresce under ultra-violet light.
