Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly warmer in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to convey fully the rich surface texture and three dimensionality of the relief, apparent in the original. Condition: This work is in very good condition. There is some evidence of light wear in places to the four extreme edges. There is a fine vertical crack running through the left side of the central relief (visible in the catalogue illustration). There are several further fine cracks around the central relief, with a few minute associated media losses. On very close examination there is a fine network of drying craquelure elsewhere to the white pigment around the relief. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultra-violet light.
