Eugène Collinot publie en 1859 avec Adalbert de Beaumont un recueil de dessins inspirés par les ornements orientaux, résultat de voyages effectués ensemble au Moyen Orient.

Ils établissent ensemble en 1862 boulevard d'Auteuil à Boulogne-sur-Seine une manufacture de faïence. Un an plus tard, Collinot expose déjà à l'Union Centrale des faïences dans le style perse et reçoit plusieurs médailles pour sa production. Il est également décoré en 1865 par le Shah de Perse pour sa contribution à la renaissance de la céramique perse.

Sa présentation à l'Exposition Universelle de Londres en 1867 est un triomphe et saluée et notamment une fontaine arabe murale de dimension considérable illustrée dans The Art Journal.
