Description

mounted as a hand scroll, written in ink on a woven silk brocade, the edict, an imperial promotion conferred upon an official including praises for his wives, the text arranged in standard form reading from right to left in kaishu and repeated in Manchu script reading from left to right, with an imperial seal and dated Yongzheng first year (1723)

Condition

Mounted in the wrong direction ; some tears to the edges of the scroll to the paper andto the silk.
