A 'mughal' pale celadon jade jarlet Qing Dynasty, 18th Century

the translucent pale celadon stone with russet and black inclusions and veins carved in low relief with thin walls forming a globular vessel with a short cylindrical neck collared by overlapping petals, the sides set with a pair of lotus buds touching the tip of acanthus leaves forming loop handles, the body carved in low relief with lotus and acanthus leaves, all set between pendent and upright acanthus leaves draping the shoulder and skirting the base, resting on a shallow base carved with a chrysanthemum flowerhead, the neck inset with a thin circular green jade disk reticulated with further lotus flowers

The mouthrim has a 0.5 cm stabilised bruise, developed along a natural streak of the stone. There is also a 0.2 mm chip to one of the handles. Apart from some tiny nibbles to the rim and foot, the overall condition is quite good.
