Description

finely potted with deep rounded sides supported on a low slightly tapered foot, boldly carved with a peony scroll covering the exterior, the foot encircled with a key-fret band, the interior with a similar composite floral scroll encircling a chrysanthemum roundel, the glaze of a rich olive-grey tone

An old Japanese collection.

Condition

There is a 4 mm area of the rim which has been slightly polished down, possibly to remove a kiln grit. Apart from some occasional iron spots, the overall condition is very good.
