each finely potted with steep flared sides resting on a slightly tapered foot, the exterior spiritedly enamelled with four medallions of stylised foliate-tailed dragons, interspersed by trailing aster sprays around the rim and base, the underside inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character apocryphal mark of Chenghua within a double-square, wood stands

Condition

The overall condition of the pair is very good, except for some minor potting and firing conditions, such as some glaze gaps to the bases, a tiny raised lump on one cup, together with a stained air bubble to the interior of the other. The mouth rims are slightly discoloured. Almost all of the enamelling is well reserved.
