Description

the rounded sides supported on a short straight foot, the interior centre painted in enamels and gilt with a stylised lotus, the exterior similarly decorated with immortals and Buddhist emblems above lotus blossoms, divided by jewelled animal masks above rocks rising from waves, all between two bands of bajixiang and shou characters, the underside inscribed in red with a Manchu mark within a double-square

Condition

The overall condition is quite good. There is a loss of 0.4 by 0.5 cm to a pink mandorla on the exterior, but the area has been stabilised. Most of the enamels and gilt decoration, however, are well preserved. The surface also has some pinprick glaze holes and minor scratches.
