- Each approximately 10 x 5 inches
Three similar, each in the form of a makara, with a curled tail, crested ridge along the shoulders and mouth formed as the muzzle of the cannon, the legs mounted with two pairs of wheels, one now missing these; the fourth of cylindrical form with a pair of fish-shaped supports mounted on a pair of wheels
Catalogue Note
These miniature weapons, perhaps intended as toys, would appear to have taken their inspiration from full-size cannon shaped as makara, an example of which is in the Mehrangarh Museum Trust, in the Fort at Jodhpur (illustrated Welch 1985, p.357).
