Some surface abrasion, discolouration and staining. Few small patches where paper has worn through. Edges slightly frayed. Laid down on modern stout cream paper. As viewed.

Catalogue Note

The distinctive hats and sticks of the male figures identify them as cowherds, and Krishna is the central crowned male figure, seen here interacting with one of the gopis. The scene probably illustrates an episode from the Bhagavata Purana, or a related poetic text such as the Sat Sai or Rasikapriya.
