Cut and beaten with chased details, in the form of a leafy floral spray

Condition

Polished on one side, some extremities misshapen, a few minor surface accretions, minor wear, as viewed.

Catalogue Note

The attribution to Murshidabad for this panel comes from the similarity of its design to the depiction of a floral spray on the verso of a Murshidabad miniature of c.1760 in the Fondation Custodia (Gahlin 1986, p.40, no.53, fig.49). The twisted leaves and basal clump of the miniature are treated in a closely related manner on this brass panel.
