The five calligraphies are as follows:
A: Calligraphic exercises in the style of Qarahisari, Turkey, Ottoman, 16th-17th century. Another page from the same album is illustrated in Schimmel 1984, p.82.
B: A qasidah in thuluth script concerning Ali, Hassan and Husain, Persia, 18th-19th century.
C: A bold nasta'liq flourish
D: A folio with five calligraphic birds made up of the Basmallah (recto), and the phrase "Ya Muhmmad" in gulzar calligraphy decorated with floral sprays and a stylized a'lam containing the word Allah (verso), India, perhaps Deccan, 19th century.
E: A Persian couplet in nasta'liq script, Persia, 19th century
