Description

  • 13 1/2 x 2 3/8 inches
the body with shallow well and stepped rim supported on a solid unglazed red earthenware foot, decorated in cobalt blue, copper green and manganese purple with a large central medallion enclosing a geometric grid of interlocking green and purple squares filled with stiff blue leaves, the rim with an undulating scroll of white leaves on a blue ground and a narrow inner band of ogival cartouches filled with alternating green and purple trelliswork, the back with a plain turquoise outer band and a frieze of stiff leaves in lozenge-form cartouches, label of K.Minassian on underside, vestiges of further labels
