Catalogue Note
The four calligraphies are:
A: In shikasteh, a copy of a letter from an unnamed person recommending Abbas Quli Khan, Aslan Beg and Mirza Muhammad Muhsin to a [Qajar?] Prince.
B: A calligraphic page in shikasteh commissioned by a certain Haji Muhammad Amin (?) and written by ...(?) Khan in Ramadan in 1235 (1820).
C: A siyah-mashq in nasta'liq, unsigned and undated. There is the impression of an oblong seal, which might be that of Mirza Mahsi Khan Astarabadi the Minister of Nadir Shah, who had a very large library.
D: A siyah-mashq in nasta'liq by Mir Husayn, dated 1294 (1877-8)
The scribe Mir Husayn is not otherwise recorded.
