Inscriptions

The call to God to bless 'The Fourteen Innocents' and the owner's name:

haji pari (?)-sahib walida-ye 'ali 'adilshah-e ghazi

'Haji Pari (?)-Sahib mother of Ali Adilshah, the Conqueror'

There are two Deccani rulers of Bijapur with the name Ali: Ali I (965-87/1558-79) and Ali II (1066-83/1656-72). The form and style of the bowl suggests that the reference in this inscription refers to the latter during whose reign war first broke out with the Mughals.
