- Ink & Gold on Paper
Arabic manuscript on paper, 211 leaves, 17 lines to the page, written in neat Naskh script in black ink, verses separated by gold florets pointed in red and blue, margins ruled in red and gold, surah headings in red against gold-ground cartouches within rectangular panels filled with polychrome flowers, marginal devices composed of gold and polychrome cartouches emanating blue sprays, opening double-page illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold, 2 further opening pages with prayers in gold against blue-ground medallions reserved against a ground of leafy gold vegetations, marginal notes throughout in Persian in Nasta'liq script within vertical cartouches, floral lacquer binding
Condition
In good overall condition, some minor marginal paper repairs at opening, otherwise generally clean and illumination bright, spine repaired, as viewed.
