Catalogue Note
This is a fine and rare example of miniature Qur'an production in the early Safavid period. It can be compared to a slightly larger miniature Qur'an in the Nasser D.Khalili Collection, London, which was produced in the same period but was attributed to the Ottoman Empire (see Rogers 1995, p.55, no.19).
