- Cast Brass
of stylised feline form with two, deep, wing-shaped projections on each side and openings to the front, pear-form aperture extending from the back and associated hinge mount, the chest and hind legs decorated with an embossed roundel decorated with palmette flowerheads
Condition
In overall good condition, with minor surface patination with associated cleaning, one bent wing with crack, small crack to one of hind legs, as viewed.

Recent restoration has revealed a signature to the body of the present lion which can be read as 'Muhammad' and possibly refers to the maker's name.
