This textile fragment can be compared with other inscribed textiles from the tenth Century in the David Collection (nos: 58/1966, 18/1971, and 47/1992), illustrated in Sultan, Shah, and Great Mughal: The History and Culture of the Islamic World, Copenhagen, 1996, pp.106-107, nos.66-69. The present textile's honorific value is evident by the luxurious blue silk used to outline its inscription.
