Persian manuscript on paper, 8 lines to the page written in Nasta'liq script in black ink, the text interspersed with gold flowers, side and corner panels with ensuite decoration and punched with gold, laid down on an album page with inner ebru borders, ruled in gold, framed

In good overall condition, losses to outer album page edges, otherwise ink bold, as viewed.

Lutfullah b. Ismail (d.1753)
Born in Istanbul, Lutfullah was the son of Sheikh al-Islam Ebu-Ishak Isma'il Naim Efendi (d.1726), grand-mufti to Ahmed III (r.1703-30) between 1716 and 1718. He studied calligraphy, primarily the style of Nasta'liq under the supervision of court calligrapher Durmush-zade Ahmed Efendi. He was appointed Qadi-asker of Anatolia (imperial chief-judge) and died in Istanbul in 1753. He was buried in the cemetery of the Ismail Agha Mosque in the district of Fatih, built by his father.
