Arabic manuscript on paper, 381 leaves, plus 2 flyleaves, 15 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink, verses separated by gold florets, surah headings in white thuluth script within florally embellished gold ground cartouches, illuminated polychrome marginal devices, margins ruled in black and gold, opening double page illuminated frontispiece composed of a completely gold ground decorated with foliate motifs and punched cintimani design, gilt stamped morocco binding with trellis design and flap, with fitted and gilt-decorated leather slip-case
Condition
In very good overall condition, slip case in need of repair at the sides, Qur'an with bright illumination, minor loss to bottom right hand edge of frontispiece, pages generally clean and ink strong, one or two minor smudges, otherwise good, as viewed.
