Description
en forme de corolle, les bords évasés légèrement chantournés, à décor au centre de poissons, fleurs et lotus se répétant sur le pourtour, marque apocryphe Xuande à six caractères dans un double cercle en bleu sous couverte à la base
Provenance
A certificate by Mayuyama & Co., Japan, suggesting a dating to the Jiajing period (1522-1566) accompanies this lot.
Condition
Good condition with some fritting and a minute flake to the rim, some light scratches and a couple of iron spots to the central fish medallion in the interior. A few pinprick air bubbles and original shrinkages in the glaze beneath the base. The actual colour is slightly more cobalt, less ultramarine with a bluish tinge in the glaze compared to the illustration in the catalogue. The Japanese wood box is in good condition.
Please note that this lot comes with a certificate from Mayuyama & Co. Japan, suggesting a dating to the Jiajing period (1522-1566).
