Description

le brûle-parfum en forme de lion couché, la crinière et la queue finement sculptées, la gueule légèrement entrouverte laissant apparaître les crocs, marque à trois caractères gravée à la base, la boite de Kutani en forme d'Okame, vêtue d'un kimono, un netsuke en ivoire sculpté représentant un sage portant une longue barbe, un autre en bois sculpté représentant le sennin Chokwaro, socle en bois

The kutani "Okame" box, ex Tomkinson collection.

Condition

Some wear to the netsuke consistent with age and as visible on the photo. The kutani box is in good condition with the exception of a tiny flake to the front of the base and a 1,5cm hairline in the glaze extending from the bottom rim of Okame's robe. A hairline firing flaw below her sleeve. The bronze censer is in good condition with the exception of minor visible wear to the patina and minor dent to the tip end of the tail and a nick to the rim of the hole on his back. The cover is missing.
