Description
la jardinière quadrilobée reposant sur quatre pieds ruyi, à décor incisé de lotus et emblèmes bouddhistes bajixiang dans des rinceaux fleuris, chaque face incrustée d'une plaque rectangulaire en stéatite sculptée d'un lotus, les bords plats à décor d'entrelacs soulignés d'une frise de grecques, l'intérieur doublé de maroquin rouge brun doré aux petits fers ; une plaque accidentée ; avec un personnage assis en terre cuite émaillé et bronze doré, socle en bois
Condition
The jardinière: One of the inlaid soapstone plaques on the exterior is broken vertically and has some chips on one corner. Some wear to the gilding and light oxidization under the rim. The leather lining inside is somewhat worn with rubbing to the gilded areas. Otherwise in good condition.
The figure: The tip-end of the palms in his hands are chipped, otherwise in good condition.
